Drake, Black Keys & Deadmau5 To Perform At Governors Ball 2015

Drake, The Black Keys, Deadmau5 and Lana Del Rey are among the big names confirmed to play the Fifth Annual Governors Ball Music Festival.

Organizers today announced a massive line-up that also includes acts from across the edgier end of the music spectrum, and from around the world.

British acts Florence + The Machine, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds andCharli XCX will share the stage with Australian artists Tame Impala, Angus & Julia Stone, Flume and Vance Joy, Iceland’s Björk and U.S. acts My Morning Jacket, Ryan Adams, and St. Vincent.

It’s a deep bill with something to satiate even the most festival-hardened of music nerds. The likes of The War on Drugs, Hermitude, Hot Chip, Death From Above 1979, Royal Blood, Conor Oberst and Billboard 200 chart-topping funnyman Weird Al Yankovic are booked to play. See the line-up poster below.

As previously reported, this year’s three-day fest returns to Randall’s Island Park in New York City and will be held June 5- June 7.  Both regular and VIP weekend passes are available at governorsballmusicfestival.com.

“We’re thrilled to announce the 2015 lineup for Gov Ball, which we feel is our strongest yet,” says Jordan Wolowitz, a partner at Governors Ball producer and promoter Founders Entertainment. “This June will be a celebration of our 5th anniversary as NYC’s premier music festival. We would like to send our most sincere thanks to the fans and artists across the globe that have helped make Gov Ball what it is today, as well as to the Randall’s Island Parks Alliance, who has been an incredible partner to us over the years. See everyone June 5th! It’ll be one hell of a party.”

Following the previous year’s mud-fest, the 2014 bill (headlined by OutKast, Jack White, and Vampire Weekend) was unveiled with a full-page ad in The New York Times. This time, a conventional press release did the job.
