9:30 Club- Washington DC

After being on a six year hiatus (which for many fans felt like it’s been a million years), Good Charlotte finally announced they have reunited and will be releasing a brand new album almost 6 years after then released Cardiology. Good Charlotte is back!

There is no better way to start off their comeback than with a very short and sweet mini east coast tour that kicked off to a sold out crowd in Philly, which then led them to make their way back to the venue where it all began for the guys of Good Charlotte, The legendary 9:30 Club in Washington DC.

GoodCharlotte-20Good Charlotte opened with their most famous single, The Anthem and boy did the whole crowd go crazy in that place! It was quite obvious the guys were missed by their fans, who seemed to be anxiously awaiting for GC’s new album, Youth Authority, to be released July 15 via MDDN.

The looks on the band’s face was priceless by the way the crowd sang every song, but also how the fans  knew their most recent singles, 40 oz Dream and Makeshift Love. They sang the newer songs just as loud as older songs. Overall, the energy was very high and it felt like the band had never even left the music scene. Not only did the fans enjoy Good Charlotte’s performance, I think the band enjoyed it even more because of the atmosphere and being back in their hometown at a venue they grew up attending shows at.

Opening up for Good Charlotte was Texas band, Waterparks. The band was brought up by Benji and Joel Madden under their own management named MDDN.

Good Charlotte are on a select few dates of the 2016 Vans Warped Tour and are very excited to get back out and play music as well as being back on tour in the fall which will return to the DMV area! You could tell the 9:30 Club was a big part of Good Charlotte’s history as they mentioned multiple times during their set as. With another Sold Out show at the 9:30 Club, Good Charlotte is back and better than ever so make sure to pick up their new album Youth Authority in July or preorder it now and see them on Warped Tour and stay tuned for their tour announcement for fall of 2016!
