Merriweather Post Pavilion – Columbia, MD

Despite having to take on Monday the next day, country fans sure proved that no matter what day of the week it is, it’s always time to tailgate, relax and listen to some country tunes.

Up first was rising country heartthrob Brett Young. With a very short four song setlist, Young didn’t have much time on stage, but he sure did swoon the crowd with his charming smile and smooth voice. Of course as you’d assume he would play his most popular hits such as Close Enough, Like I Loved You, In Case You Didn’t Know and Sleep Without You. All songs from his setlist can be found on his self titled record.

After a short set change one of the most popular artist right now, Kelsea Ballerini took the stage and boy did she slay her set. Although she wasn’t the headliner she sure left some big expectations that Lady Antebellum had to live up to. Ballerini played a handful of songs including Dibs, her new single Unapologetically and Love Me Like You Mean It. Not only did Ballerini play her own songs she even threw in a cover of The Chainsmokers’ Closer in the mix as well. Ballerini did not disappoint the crowd one bit, and she proved that by having almost everybody on their feet and singing along.

After two fantastic sets from Brett Young & Kelsea Ballerini, it was time for Lady Antebellum. Before Lady A actually took the stage displayed on the screens around the venue were captioned “Lady A Dance Cam” which captured random fans around the pavilion dancing and having a great time. They opened up their set with Downtown. As the band, made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, are currently touring on their latest record Heart Break, they definitely didn’t forget to throw in some older tunes that their day-one fans knew word for word. Older songs they played consisted of Love Don’t Live Here, Just A Kiss and Lookin For a Good Time. Playing hit after hit and a few newer songs, they even threw in some cover songs such as Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One and The Eagles’ song by the name of Take It Easy.

Throughout the entire night, Lady A definitely lived up to the high expectations that was left behind from Young & Ballerini. The production was fantastic which wasn’t even doubted and the trio definitely still have that perfect sync despite taking some time to pursue solo projects. As the night came to an end Lady A performed an seventeen song setlist including a two song encore made up of an medley of The Air Tonight & Bartender and Need You Now, which honestly wasn’t the best way to end such an energetic night but who cares! Lady A still know how to get everyone off their feet and dancing making sure everyone is having a good time!
