Parks and Devastation brings recreation and destruction to Lowell, MA

Parks and Devastation Tour

September 9, 2014

The Tsongas Center- Lowell, MA

This past Tuesday, I had the pleasure of photographing the Parks and Devastation tour, which promises to be one of the biggest tours of the year. A Day To Remember brought Chiodos, Motionless In White and Bring Me The Horizon to Lowell, MA and they did it in a big way.

The show kicked off with Chiodos and their usual high-energy set was the best way to get the crowd warmed up. The emotion could be felt completely with Craig Owens’ stage antics. Motionless In White brought with them the intensity that surrounds their live sets, playing crowd favorites and even a few new songs, which was very well received by the crowd. Bring Me The Horizon took the stage to a roaring applause and had an entire light show throughout their set. Oli Sykes was all over the stage, singing and screaming each word with catharsis and emotion. The band played much of Sempiternal, with a few songs from previous albums.

Lastly, A Day To Remember took to the stage. They came out to a curtain of a sprawling cartoon mountain landscape, and even had fake trees on stage, which singer, Jeremy McKinnon had knocked over at one point. The curtain then dropped to reveal the band with a backdrop of their cartoon faces all portrayed on Mount Rushmore, which fits very well with the tour name. The band had confetti cannons and shot confetti during the first and last songs, all while having a great time on stage and projecting their energy onto the crowd. They roared through all of their albums with practiced precision and had a blast the entire time.
