Pitbull

With various DJ openers including DJ Chino & Jami Drastic and Havana Brown, it was evident that August 8, 2012 at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California was going to be an energetic, non forgettable experience for the Planet Pit 2012 World Tour. After DJ Chino & Jami Drastic performed, DJ Havana Brown came onto the stage and glared into the packed amphitheater, standing behind her DJ booth which was two letters- HB.
In 2011, Brown won Favorite DJ and Breakthrough artist for the IT List Awards and in 2012 placed number 1 in the US Dance charts for her song, We Run The Night Ft. Pitbull so it was no surprise that she put on a great show. During her energetic set full of covers and original songs, about 10 minutes in, Brown stepped from behind her booth and stood on top of it, dancing as the crowd went crazy. Also, while performing, in the middle of nowhere, fans started going insane; Pitbull came out into the audience to watch Brown perform and people formed a circle around him as he signed autographs and took photos with fans. After Brown ended her set with We Run The Night fans rushed outside to get a beer and go to the bathroom before the main act- Pitbull, aka Mr. Worldwide!

At around 9:30, fans were getting anxious as they tried to spot Pitbull behind the see through curtains covering the stage. As the lights dimmed, everyone rose, almost on cue and phones were turned on, fingers waiting to press the record button. When the curtains rose, a silhouette stood atop of a staircase while Mr. Worldwide played, going straight into, Hey Baby, Pitbull’s first single from his most recent album, Planet Pit with a T. Pain figure on the screen, singing his parts of the song. Song after song was full of dancing and singing along with twists including changing songs up in the middle by either playing a rock intro or going into LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It. As the night was to an end, everyone was cheering when Pitbull went into Give Me Everything which won Top Radio Song in 2012. Lights were flashing, the screens showing different images and everyone- literally, everyone singing. As the song ended, all the lights shut off except for one spotlight on Pitbull. “See everyone in LA, I want to say thank you for all the support We appreciate all the love. Thank you for having us here tonight. To all the fans, I always say, and this is true cause without y’all there is no Pitbull, there is no movement so thank y’all for the support”.
With radio hits including Bon Bon, Give me Everything, Hey Baby, International Love and tons more, the show was full of excitement from both sides. Women and even the men were dancing with their friends in front of their seats as Pitbull did the same on stage and it seemed like everyone just let loose.
