The Jingle Ball Tour Brings It’s Star Studded Line-Up To DC

Jingle Ball
December 11, 2017
Capital One Arena, Washington, DC

Starting off the holiday season right, for another year iHeartRadio teamed up with local radio stations and Capital One to bring together the hottest artists on one stage to perform their biggest hits for their fans. Capital One Arena hosted Jingle Ball once again with a brilliant line up and boy did fans go crazy! This particular date consisted of Halsey, Zedd, Liam Payne, Fall Out Boy, Logic, Camila Cabello, Kesha, Charlie Puth, Julia Michaels and Why Don’t We.

Starting off the night, hosts from the Hot 99.5 Kane Show introduced the first artists to take the stage, which was the fairly new boy band Why Don’t We. Being new to the industry, the boys managed to woo the crowd with their charming personalities and good looks. To name a few songs played during their set consisted of Air of the Night, Nobody Gotta Know and These Girls. Despite not being very well known, the young female fans screeched over them.

Next up was a familiar artist, the super talented Camila Cabello. Just recently taking her career and moving it into a solo direction, Cabello blew everyone away. Coming up in January, Cabello  is due to put out her debut solo album, Camila. Some songs Camila treated the fans to were her most popular hits like the single Havana, OMG and Crying in the Club.

After a very energetic set by the fabulous Camila Cabello, rising Singer-songwriter Julia Michaels took the stage with a huge smile and nothing but gratitude. Her most popular single on the radio has a catchy tune to it, and we’ve all heard it whether you know it or not, she opened with Issues. Just releasing her debut album this past July, there is no doubt that her growing fan base (and fans in attendance) know her newest material by heart. Throughout Michaels’ set her fans sang back to her a few songs off FOB_Live-9her latest record such as Uh Huh and Issues.

Up next the very handsome heartthrob Charlie Puth took the stage so eager to be there. Puth took the stage holding a cup of tea and introduced himself before starting his time on stage. Just releasing a few new singles off his newest record due mid January, instantly the fans knew the song word for word already. A few songs played during his set included his newest radio jams such as Attention and How Long. Not only did Puth play newer material he also threw in a few older hits such as See You Again and One Call Away. The girls in attendance had their hearts stolen by this guy, definitely one of the best sets out of the few that were played already.

Taking the stage next was one of the most popular EDM artists in the country, Zedd. As he got the crowd pumped up for his set he demanded everyone off their feet and to jump around and sing along. Zedd, who has worked with so many different artists, played a medley of his songs who feature some very familiar vocalists such as Hayley Williams (Stay The Night), Selena Gomez (I Want You To Know), Alessia Cara (Stay) and Foxes (Clarity). Zedds performance and production were absolutely insane, and by insane I mean he had fireworks/pyrotechnics and streamers/confetti that shot all over the crowd. It’s safe to say Zedd’s sets are pretty lit!

Just recently this next artist just hosted her biggest tour yet at Capital One Arena, Halsey took the stage, wearing a flashy outfit and definitely owned every second of her performance. Halsey opened up with Bad At Love then into an older song of hers, Blue. Just recently her & boyfriend G-EAZY released a single together, Him & I and I’m pretty sure fans wished and wished she brought him out but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Oh well, we still got treated an amazing set by Halsey and her strong vocals.

Last year, former band mate Niall Horan took the jingle ball stage, but this time it was Liam Payne’s turn to tear up the stage with his seductive dance moves and charming personality. Just recently began releasing his solo material, Payne gave the Logic_Live-18screaming fans a set they could probably watch over and over again. Some new material of his included Strip That Down and Bedroom Floor. Throughout Payne’s set he smiled ear to ear despite only having a three song setlist to give.

Due up next was one of the most popular bands since the early 00’s, Chicago natives Fall Out Boy took the stage and instantly lit up the stage! Opening up their set with one of their most popular single, Sugar, We’re Going Down, fans instantly got off their feet and sang each word back to the band. During their second song of their set, Centuries, the band had incredible pyrotechnics during this song instantly lighting up behind each band member! I must say, the band didn’t really give off much energy as expected but hey, Fall Out Boy STILL has it. The band also played My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark and ended their set with Uma Thurman.

Lastly, it was time for the headliner, Logic to take the stage but it meant more to him than just taking the stage. This was his hometown show and despite being very ill, fever and all, Logic knew he had to pull through for his hometown and give them at least one song. Of course he played his most inspirational song that is blowing up the radio stations all over, 1-800-273-8255. The meaning behind this song is to speak out about suicide prevention and that it’s okay to not be okay, and that you’re never alone. Despite looking miserable on stage due to his awful illness, Logic left everyone speechless after such an touching song and touching moment as the whole arena lit up with their cell phone lights. What a great note to end off of.
