We Butter the Bread with Butter

With a crowd growing in front of the stage, the opening band, Honour Crest, took the light and immediately started the night off right. These guys were a fun band to watch and didn’t disappoint. They have a bright future ahead of them.

Following Honour Crest was Lions Lions. They hail from Boston Massachusetts and with the crowd waiting for a breakdown, they delivered. Songs like Thrill Seeker and the heartfelt Undertow definitely had the crowd’s attention. Overall, they were an amazing band and look forward to seeing them in the future.

Finally came the headliner, We Butter the Bread With Butter. As expected their light show was outstanding. Even in a smaller venue, they made it feel like a giant arena. With a crazy intro beat, they took the stage. Not only did they involve almost every fan in the crowd in their show, they actually joined the crowd by walking through and still playing in tune. Our interview with the band revealed that they didn’t even consider themselves “rock stars”, though you wouldn’t be able to tell that by the way they tore down the stage. Amazing climaxes and face melting breakdowns from songs like Schlaf Kindlein Schlaf and Breekatchu, these guys rocked the house. At the end of the show, they played their final song, World of Warcraft and didn’t even get off the stage without the crowd begging for another song, and of course they did ending the night with Extrem. Every song they played sounded perfect and was by far the best live metal performance I have personally witnessed. A special thank you goes out to WBTBWB. These guys were very open to us talking to them back stage, and were very down to earth and welcoming. Looking back I would say they are some of the nicest people we have met, and some of the greatest musicians in the scene. They have a bright road ahead of them and they will always be welcome in Cleveland.
