The Real Show
November 5, 2016
The Forum- Los Angeles, CA
Los Angeles’ 92.3FM The Real Show came back for it’s second annual ‘The Real Show’ performance, with this year’s headliner being none other than Usher.
Fans packed into the Forum in Inglewood, CA on Saturday, November 5 to witness a night full of rap, hip-hop, dancing and surprise guests. The night kicked off with a radio winner, who performed one song, and was followed by Kap G, a Mexican-American rapper, who played two songs, including his well known hit, Girlfriend.
The night moved quickly and efficiently, being that once one artist finished, the stage rotated clockwise, and the next artist almost instantly went on, leaving little waiting time for the fans.
Belly, a Canadian rapper was next and entertained the song throughout his short set that kicked off with Might Not, featuring The Weeknd. Up next was one of the most entertaining performances of the night, Desiigner who is best known for songs, Panda and Timmy Turner. He was running around and jumping on the stage like no other performer of the night and fans could not keep their eyes off of him.
Bryson Tiller was slated to go on next but for some reason he was unable to perform until much later in the night. Nonetheless, the show continued, with Kid Ink who appeared through a thick layer of smoke, and performed an energetic set.
Ty Dolla $ign followed and came out on stage, with many suited men following, adding to the production of the show. He performed solo for part of his set, and then introduced a couple of his friends, YG and Wiz Khalifa who joined. They appropriately performed songs like FDT, which had the entire venue singing along. Following the surprise guest filled set by Ty Dolla $ign, was Tory Lanez. Following Lanez, Bryson Tiller performed, bringing out his friend Big Sean for a couple songs.
The time most had been waiting for finally arrived, when Chance the Rapper took the stage. He mixed in slow and fast songs and effortlessly spit the verses. Unfortunately for some reason, he decided to stop the show early, saying after the end of the song, “Show’s done”. Something must have happened in the pit area or with security because he ended abruptly, leaving many fans confused and disappointed.
Usher was the final performance of the second annual The Real Show, and put on the best performance of the night. Lights flashed everywhere while he and his backup dancers jumped around the stage. He belted out songs old and new and even brought out special guest Chris Brown who kept up with him both vocally and dancing wise.
