Rams Head Live- Baltimore, MD

A Great Big Pile of Leaves said farewell to Motion City Soundtrack on their So Long, Farewell Tour. They opened the show following Rozwell Kid on Motion City Soundtrack’s final tour as a band.

A Great Big Pile of Leaves is an indie rock band that formed in Brooklyn, NY in 2007. The 4 members of the band include Pete Weiland (guitar), Tyler Soucy (drums), Matthew Fazzi (guitar), and Tucker Yaro (bass).

A Great Big Pile of Leaves took the stage just before the beginning of their set for a quick soundcheck. As the band took turns checking their microphones, Weiland easily caught the attention of the crowd when he sung a few notes into his microphone. The fans cheered and yelled to the sound of his voice, indicating that it was going to be a great show. Shortly after they finished soundcheck, they began to play their first song. They later played their song Alligator Bop, which is a fun song with an upbeat tempo that had the crowd dancing along to the beat.

A Great Big Pile of Leaves continued to put on a great show with more songs from various past albums such as A Few Screws Loose, Back to School, Pizzanomics, and Workeatsleep. The band had the whole venue, from the floor to the balcony, enthralled with their alternative, mellow sound. In-between songs, the lead singer, Weiland, engaged the crowd in conversation about different places and points of interest around Maryland as fans enthusiastically answered all of his questions. As the night continued, they played more songs and closed with their most popular song, We Don’t Need Our Heads. A Great Big Pile of Leaves is an overall really great band to see if they ever come to your city. Their soft rock influence  and honest sound make for a all-around captivating experience.
