Staples Center – Los Angeles, CA

Stopping through Los Angeles while supporting his third album, Ascend, Illenium brought the heat- literally.  Sporting baseball jersey’s reading “Illenium” on the back, fans filled the Staples Center to its maximum capacity.

Illenium kicked off his set with Blood, showcasing his talents on the guitar and getting the crowd energized. Pyrotechnics and fire, combined with the laser-beam lights made for a visually entertaining show. The production, coupled with the live band that featured a drummer, keyboard player and opener Dabin on the guitar, only intensified the songs, making them sound even bigger and better than the record.

Illenium’s set featured songs from his last two albums, as well as some others including Feel Good with Gryffin, Hard to Say Goodbye with Ekali and Gold (Stupid Love) with Excision- which was performed with some amazing guitar work by Dabin.

Midway through the set, Illenium brought out Sam from X Ambassadors to perform crowd favorite In Your Arms.

With such an extravagant production, and extremely catchy songs, it is no wonder that Illenium sold out the Staples Center. With Ascend being just his third album- with them getting better and better, we’re excited to see what he comes up with next!
