California natives, Young the Giant brought their indie-rock flare to the SOLD-OUT Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on February 7, 2014; their third stop on the Mind Over Matter tour.
Fans were packed in like sardines by the time the lights dimmed at 10:10pm and cheers echoed throughout the room. One by one, the members walked onto the stage, smiles on all of their faces. Having only two studio albums did not stop the band from giving fans a long, energetic performance which consisted of 16 songs and 3 encores.
Singer, Sameer Gadhia impressed the crowd with his vocal range and his constant juggling between keyboards, synthesizers, and his dance moves. The set began with the first three songs off of their latest album, which meant that the fans had their first chance to lose their voices during the current single, It’s About Time.
Throughout the performance, fans jumped up and down, swayed their arms and sang every lyric to every song. They were treated to crowd favorites, Cough Syrup, Apartment, Crystallized and the Friday night ended with My Body where Gadhia put his body atop of the sea of the screaming fans as he stage-dived into the crowd.
