2 Good to Be T.R.U Tour

Touring through large North American theaters and arenas, 2 Chainz, Pusha T and August Alsina arrived at the Hollywood Palladium about midway through their tour on February 21, 2014. Touring for his albums, Based on a T.R.U. Story and B.O.A.T.S II: Me Time, 2 Chainz was bringing out all the hits and a story for all the shows.
Performing since early February, it was surprising that none of the acts of the night were any bit jaded from the long touring days. It felt like one of the first shows because of all the energy that each artist brought.
First up was August Alsina, a fairly new singer/rapper from New Oreleans, Louisiana who has recently got a lot of attention for his hit single, I Luv This Shit. As the lights dimmed at around 9:20, all the women in the room screamed. The DJ introduced Alsina who came out to more screams. During his short set, he gave fans not only amazing vocal range but also some extra cash, which was thrown out into the crowd.
With a very quick stage change, Pusha T came out on stage, bringing a whole different vibe than Alsina. With his hype man and DJ, their first song, King Push set a clear image of how the show would continue. Pusha T’s stage presence made him interesting to watch
and his clean spitting of lyrics made it even better to listen to. Being that this is Los Angeles, it would be almost unreal if a guest didn’t come out on stage and surely, mid set, during Checc Me Out, Nipsey Hussle joined Pusha T on stage. A sea of Iphones came out and started recording almost as instantly as the fans screamed on for Nipsey Hussle. Pusha T ended his 15 song set with Sweet Serenade, Numbers on The Boards and Grindin.
As fans came back to their spots from the drink line, or from their cigarette break, they were greeted with the best sign at concerts, the lights dimming. It was around 10:50pm and no one’s energy had let up all night. A large screen was seen in the middle of the stage and two others on each side of the middle screen. A short video began with the definition 
of a dream, “the successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur subconsciously in the mind during certain stages of sleep“. Following the definition were clips of boxers, basketball players and many others winning competitions. After the several minute long video, smoke and fog filled the stage. The middle screen split into two and 2 Chainz came out on stage, going right into Fork, the first song off his latest album, B.O.A.T.S II: Me Time. Everyone had their hands in the air, singing along to each and every song he performed, never letting up. Aside from his stage presence, talking to the crowd every couple songs, his stage set-up with the TV’s in the background, made it really interesting to watch. He performed a set-list longer than many artists now a days, with 27 songs, including I’m Different, Used 2, Birthday Song, No Lie and his renditions of hits that he was featured on, including, All Me by Drake, Bands Make Her Dance by Juicy J, Fuckin’ Problems by A$AP Rocky and many more.
