Basement
August 20, 2014
Sinclair- Cambridge, MA
After a unexpected announcement of a break-up, Basement had decided to do a reunion, which included their first ever headlining tour. The band had chosen the US as their first step of the tour, with their home of the UK being the next. They had also chosen to bring along some friends in the form of Pity Sex and Superheaven.
On August 20th, the tour had come to the final stop in Cambridge, MA at the Sinclair. The show had originally sold out and was expected to be crowded. Starting off was Ovlov, an alternative indie band from Connecticut. They had jumped on the tour for the final few days and were a welcome addition.
Next up was Pity Sex, who were definitely a crowd favorite, with everyone singing the lyrics as loud as they could. Superheaven could be considered the “heaviest” band on the tour, with their grunge-like sound that could have also flourished in the 90’s as well.
Once the bands had played, Basement was up. They had brought their signature sound with full force, and let out some heartfelt messages in between songs. They had played much of their discography, which was received with great enthusiasm by the crowd. All in all, it will be a night that anyone in attendance will not forget.
