Jiffy Lube Live- Bristow, VA
The boys in 5 Seconds of Summer sure paid a visit to Jiffy Lube Live on one of the hottest days we have had of the year so far with support from Hey Violet and One Ok Rock.
Hey Violet gave off some screechy vocals and overpowering instrumentals throughout the entire set. Despite playing a good handful of cover songs they seemed to get the crowd going a tad which then again the sun was out and it was too hot to get the party started quite yet.
The next band to hit the stage was One Ok Rock, all the way from Japan. Just from their stage appearance, you could tell that they were an pop punk band. Once on stage, they brought such a superb energetic set with some heavy instrumentals mixed into their songs. The energy that these guys had got a fair portion of the crowd up on their feet dancing, singing and even a little bit of head banging in the mix.
After a fantastic set from the two openers, the lights finally dimmed and the crowd jumped from out from their seats, screaming at the top of their lungs. There were thousands of teenage girls that filled the venue. The crowd was so loud that I could literally feel their screams vibrating through my ear plugs. The expectations were set high for the boys of 5SOS. They opened up with their latest hit Hey Everybody, which looking back into the crowd everyone knew every word to this song.
The entire night was a fangirl’s wildest dream packed with a full set of catchy pop songs and cute Australian boys jumping around on a stage. Speaking of their set list, they boys played many off their most recent album, Sounds Good Feels Good, such as Permanent Vacation and Jet Black Heart. Fans were also treated to some older 5Sos songs that originally got them to where they are today such as, Amnesia and Disconnected. The ended the night with their most popular singles, She’s Kinda Hot and She Looks So Perfect. Overall the show definitely stole a thousands of teenage girls hearts and left them absolutely star struck as they left after the show. Definitely a show you would want to catch before the US leg comes to an end.
