Fillmore- Silver Spring, MD
The day before we all said goodbye to 2016, Bush brought their most recent tour to the Fillmore in Silver Spring MD. What better way to wrap up the year than with a good ole rock concert.
Opening up the night was The Kickback. Despite only having 30 minutes to get the crowd off their feet for Bush to take the stage, they had no problems creating those vibes. The band also didn’t hold back about how they felt about moving from South Dakota all the way to Chicago and losing all their stuff due to it being stolen. After playing a few songs off their latest record, Sorry All Over The Place, the crowd seemed to really dig their set and got all ready for Bush to take their turn on stage.
Roughly ten minutes after nine, the lights in the venue went out and the intro to Everything Zen started playing as Bush took the stage. Fans of Bush who seemed to be ranging from mid twenties to late thirties/forties were all in attendance screaming at the top of their lungs. Bush played a variety of songs off many of their different albums such as singles Mouth, The Chemical Between Us and Greedy Fly.
As the night went on, the band tore up the stage with their hit songs they ended their set with Little Things. The crowd wanted more of Gavin Rossdale and co. Finally the band took the stage to play a four song encore which consisted of three of their most popular hit singles, Machinehead, followed by an R.E.M cover of The One I Love, another hit such as Glycerine and to end the night was Comedown. Bush may be getting older but these guys sure know how to still rock and get a whole packed venue off their feet!
