John Legend
July 25, 2017
Merriweather Post Pavilion – Columbia, MD
Finally, the rescheduled John Legend date had come and it was such a beautiful night for a concert here in Columbia, Maryland. It was roughly 75 degrees with a nice wind and all the fans rushed to get a great spot on the lawn and or rushed to get to their seat.
After a set from the openers, Muddy Magnolias, Legend took the stage promptly at 9:30 pm. As he took the stage he had nothing but a huge grin on his face as he took his seat at his piano after embracing the screams and cheers coming ranging from the front row to the tip of the lawn.
Legend started his set with I Know Better then proceeded into singing Penthouse Floor as he strutted from one side of the stage to the other. Throughout the night Legend didn’t fail to disappoint fans one bit, meaning not only did he play a variety of his own songs like What You Do to Me, a song dedicated to his adorable little girl Luna called Right By You and Darkness and Light, he also threw in a couple covers such as Like I’m Gonna Lose You by Meghan Trainor and God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.
Legend played all old and new songs throughout the entire set, he ended his twenty three song setlist with So High. Just when you think twenty three songs were just enough, Legend came back out to play an encore. He played one of his most popular singles, All Of Me and Glory to end the night officially.
