The Fillmore- Silver Spring, MD
Sold out at max capacity, former One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan brought his solo career to life at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. You would think in the pouring, cold rain it would make fans take cover somehow, but not these die hard fans. As early as dawn, fans were already lined up waiting for a glimpse of Horan and also to secure a spot right in front of the stage.
As soon as doors opened and security checked the fans before entering, you could feel the energy coming off the anxious fans. Within minutes of doors opening, instantly you couldn’t even see the barricade, it was lined up with screaming female fans waiting for Horan to take that stage right before their eyes. After an opening act, the screeches got ear piercing as the lights went down and as Horan took the stage opening his set with The Tide. Performing for a little over an hour, Horan blessed the fans with an incredible setlist consisting of fourteen songs, a majority of them being from his debut solo album, Flicker.
As the night went on the screams got louder and louder in between songs. You could definitely tell there were some truly dedicated Niall Horan fans by the way the whole venue sang back each song word. Horan was amazed, you could tell by the nonstop smiling throughout the night. To name off a few songs Horan played were, latest single Too Much To Ask, Mirrors, and the two most popular songs on the radio, This Town and Slow Hands.
Horan, being known from the most popular boy band in the world, One Direction, covered their song Fool’s Gold nearly at the end of his set. That definitely sent fans over the edge with excitement. After a long night of good music from Niall Horan, he said his farewell and ended his set with On My Own.
