The Wiltern Theater – Los Angeles, CA

A stream of passion and effortless serenading swept the Wiltern Theater on October 10, 2018. The Irish-born Andrew Hozier-Bryne- AKA Hozier had a lot in store for his third and final sold out show in LA.

Fans packed in like sardines for the third night in a row to witness the Take Me To Church singer in action. From the crowd’s emotion and excitement throughout the set, it was clear that Hozier is much more than a one-hit wonder. Fans belted each and every song from the 16 that were performed, participated in repeat-after-me’s and danced til’ the night was over.

Touring to promote his latest release Nina Cried Power EP, Hozier performed 4 songs from the EP, and the majority (10) were from his debut, self-titled record. It was nice to hear the little stories Hozier would tell throughout the night, including the one about Shrike- from the new EP. He explained the characteristics of this territorial and carnivorous bird and how it impales the bodies of their prey on sharp objects.

Hozier’s voice was both soothing and powerful and his backing band did an amazing job to help keep the energy up. The backup singers really brought the show to another level, as did guitarist, Suzanne Santo. Fans were also treated to a new track that not many people have heard yet- called Movement which is going to be featured on Hozier’s next EP or album.

After just the first few songs of the set, it became clear as to why Hozier was able to sell out this venue three nights in a row. His production was definitely on point, his backing band was tight, but Hozier himself has such a powerful voice and lyrics, that it’s no question that he would be able to sell out 3 more shows, should they have been added.
