Machine Gun Kelly

The Shrine – Los Angeles, CA
Five days after his first sold-out LA show, Machine Gun Kelly was back for more. “LA crowds are always the most mellow,” MGK said right before thanking the crowd for breaking the stereotype and being and energetic & amazing crowd. The fans erupted in cheers and chants, singing along to every lyric throughout the night.
Machine Gun Kelly performed with a full band who played 27 songs including a cover of Paramore’s Misery Business, my ex’s best friend, I Think I’m Okay, Papercuts and ending the set with Bloody Valentine.
Being an LA show, MGK of course had to bring out some special guests, the first of which was Travis Barker of Blink-182. They performed several songs together including Sick and Tired, with Iann Dior.
A handful of fans held up posters throughout the set, hoping MGK would see them and respond. A little girl held up a sign that read “This is my 1st concert. I came all the way from Cleveland. I love MGK.” Being raised in Cleveland himself, MGK jumped off stage, greeted the girl and had a singalong with her. He then asked Travis Barker to throw down one of his drumsticks and proceeded to hand it to the little girl.
From singing with fans, to bringing his nephew Ashton on stage, to climbing the stage to slightly concerning heights, Machine Gun Kelly brought it all. His energy was next level, his connection with the fans was heartwarming and the overall set was full of hits. Of course he incorporated some rap including Wild Boy and a freestyle of Jack Harlow’s What’s Poppin.
