In August, legendary UK band Anathema has announced further dates for their forthcoming European tour. On October 8, 2012, they will make a stop and play live in Vienna, Austria. The band is touring in support of the band’s new album “Weather System”. Support for the show is a German band A Dog Called Ego. The show will take place at Szene Wien.
Anathema are an English band from Liverpool. Beginning as pioneers of the death/doom sub-genre, their later albums have been associated with genres such as alternative rock, progressive rock, art rock, new prog, and post-rock. Anathema formed in 1990 as a doom metal band, initially going by the name Pagan Angel. In November of that year, the band recorded their first demo, entitled An Iliad of Woes. This demo caught the attention of several bands and labels from the English metal scene and on April 16, 2012, they released their ninth studio album – Weather Systems.
