Crowd Surf America Tour

The Blessthefall and Chiodos co-headlined Crowd Surf America Tour made its way to the Pomona Glass House on Friday evening. The tour that features support acts, I Killed The Prom Queen and Capture The Crown sold-out the legendary all ages venue that has recently undergone a much needed transformation into one of Southern California’s premier music venues.
If it was not obvious before that Blessthefall are more than capable of selling out any show that they play following their recent headliner in May at House of Blues Anaheim, then Friday night at the Pomona Glass House only followed in suit. The Phoenix, AZ natives took to the stage shortly after the house lights dimmed, much to the applause of those in attendance as the opening notes of Exodus echoed through the house speakers. The intensity only picked up as Hollow Bodies and the one-two punch tracks of 2.0 and What’s Left Of Me were played in succession that had the fans running in circles forming the mosh pit and crowd surfing across the floor.
Prior to the start of Déjà Vu, singer Beau Bokan reminded those in attendance that they were there for the Crowd Surf America Tour and as always, expected his fans to make their way over the barrier and high five him. Taking note, the floor erupted as one fan after another made their way into the circle pit led by Stick To Your Guns guitarist Josh James who Bokan acknowledged to the crowd during See You on the Outside.
There is something about lead singer, Craig Owens and Chiodos together that creates a recipe for success. The post-hardcore band graced the Glass House stage that rapidly fired up the crowd with their opener, Ole Fishlips is Dead Now that only continued with their classic song, The Undertaker’s Thirst for Revenge Is Unquenchable. (The Final Battle). The combination of Craig Owens and Thomas Erak has made Chiodos perhaps their strongest line-up to date given their stage presence and raw ability to feed off the buzz created from the crowd. Prior to exiting the stage, Owens reminded the fans that they would be returning shortly as part of the Parks and Devastation tour with A DAY TO REMEMBER and BRING ME THE HORIZON.
Aussie metalcore legends, I Killed The Prom Queen briefly entertained the crowd with a solid mix from their records, Music for the Recently Deceased and their Epitaph Records debut, Beloved. Following a period that saw various band members come and go, break-up to focus on other musical projects and a brief hiatus, Prom Queen returned to the Glass House with a solid performance that was highlighted by their infamous single, Say Goodbye.
Artery Recordings Capture the Crown opened up the night in a brief set that included, Reign Of Terror and To Whom It May Concern, from their new record, Reign of Terror. Lead singer, Jeffrey Wellfare consistently played off the crowd that saw the set build in intensity up until the minute they exited. Capture the Crown easily turned a few heads and made many new fans of the band.
