The Story So Far

Many fans had waited for this night, June 10th the night that The Story So Far’s headlining tour finally made its way to The Showbox. The 36-date tour was finally towards the end of its run and everyone seemed excited to be in Seattle. A lot of buzz had come about from all of the bands on the bill; Souvenirs, Terror, Four Year Strong , and The Story So Far. Fans had gotten in line starting around noon and some fans had traveled for hours to see their favorite band.
Souvenirs were the first on the lineup. The four-piece rock band hailing from Carpintera, California. Signed to Other People Records, they recently released an EP entitled “You, Fear, and Me.” They included every song off of the EP in their setlist. The crowd was mellow to match the band’s energy. Overall, they put on a pretty impressive set.
The next band Terror comes from Los Angeles, California and includes five members. Formed in 2002, the band has released five albums. In the midst of recording their sixth album, The 25th Hour, the band joined on the tour. Towards the end of their set, the band gave out t-shirts into the crowd, promoting the awaited album. During the show, lead singer, Scott Vogel, noticed a girl singing along to every song. He got down from the stage and got her out of the crowd and gave her the microphone. The set had people nonstop moshing and singing along.
The last band before the headliner was Four Year Strong a band from Worcester, Massachusetts. The five members came together in 2001, and have since released five studio albums. The latest album, Four Year Strong, was released June 2 through Pure Noise Records. One distinctive detail about the band was the fact that each member had a beard. Among the setlist, the included the crowd favorite, Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die.
The Story So Far closed the night. The well awaited four-piece band from Walnut Creek, California has released three studio albums. The energy of the crowd was very anxious before the band took the stage. They opened up with the crowd favorite, Quicksand. Along with old songs such as 680 South, they also played from the new album which was released on May 19th such as Nerve which seems to be a favorite among the crowd off the new album. The amount of moshing and crowd surfing going on during their set was insane, thanks to the awesome security guards at The Showbox none of the crowd surfers got injured although I got kicked by some of the fans when the security caught them. The band closed with the high energy High Regard.
The show full of great experiences, each band playing a great set. At the end of the night, there was a crowd of people waiting outside the venue in the hopes that they meet their favorite musicians. The crowd was their biggest headlining crowd in Seattle to date. With each release they put out, there popularity rises. The future for each band is very bright, and I cant wait to where they will end up.
