Rams Head Live- Baltimore, MD
A band that has grown so much in the past couple years brought their biggest headlining tour yet to Baltimore, MD and the tour’s stacked with some pretty incredible support acts as well.
Opening up the night, Escape The Fate gave fans a pretty good set. With not much time they still managed to get the crowd moving and off their feet. Playing only a setlist consisting of seven songs, they managed to squeeze in hits such as Remember Every Scar, Gorgeous Nightmare and Four Letter Word. With the allotted time they had- which wasn’t very much, the band gave their all played a short set and managed to squeeze in a circle pit in the mix as well.
After Escape The Fate, The Word Alive took the stage and not going to lie, I was pretty excited as I’ve never seen them before. The band opened their set with Misery. With only a seven song setlist, vocalist Telle Smith managed to FaceTime with a fan. To name a few other songs played consisted of Overdose, Life Cycles and the band ended their set with Trapped.
We Came As Romans took the stage after a great set from The Word Alive and vocalist Kyle Pavome took the stage first as he showed fans his DJ side of his musical abilities. As the rest of the band took the stage they opened up their set with Cold Like War. After just releasing a killer new record the band took their ten song setlist and played a few songs off the newest record such as Wasted Age and Lost In The Moment. Not only did the band play their own songs they also threw in a cover of The Wanted’s Glad You Came. The band closed their set out with Hope.
Finally after three great sets from some pretty solid bands, the rising band I Prevail took the stage and boy was this production one of the greatest tour productions for your typical pop-punk type show. Their stage displayed a giant boxing rink and why do that have that? Well Vocalist/Screamer Eric Vanlerberghe says “because he fucking felt like it”. After the beginning song of the set, Come and Get It, Vanlerberghe explained why clean Vocalist Brian Burkheiser had to head back home, which was due to being ill. Get Better soon, Brian.
As the night went on there were continuous crowd surfers making their way to the stage and tons of moshing throughout their fourteen song setlist. To name off a few songs played included, RISE, Stuck In Your Head and even threw in a never played live before song, Outcast. Of course the guys of I Prevail are quite entertaining and didn’t fail to provide that entertainment. They covered Lil Jon’s Get Low song which was followed by bringing a fan up on stage to act out a pre-taped heel promo which got the crowd laughing. They also covered LMFAO’s famous hit Shots. Getting back to the show the band proceeded to play hit after hit including another cover of the song that really got them attention, Taylor Swifts’ Blank Space, followed by closing their set with Already Dead and Lifelines. Just when you thought the night was done, the band came back out to perform an encore of Scars and an outro song as they departed the stage, Turn Down For What.
I Prevail’s biggest headlining tour yet is a tour you definitely do not want to miss. With a stacked lineup and an insane production backing them it’s one of the best tours of the fall so far.
