Santander Arena, Reading, PA

On Saturday March 22,2014 the Santander Arena of Reading, PA was packed from front to back with die-hard Skillet and Third Day fans. The Third Day & Skillet tour, presented by Food For The Hungry, seemed to be a long time anticipated tour for Skillet and Third Day fans of all ages, from all over the spectrum.

Skillet (9)The night started out with Nashville, Tennessee rock band, We As Human. Up next was a group of musicians known as BranDisa, pumping up the crowd with some modern day worship. Food For the Hungry speaker followed their performances, talking about the unsettling amount of people in the world today that are without food. The unbearable and heartbreaking struggle to survive that these men, women, and children of all ages are faced with today and what we can do to help. After a 20 minute intermission, Third Day took the stage. The Christian Rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, left fans in aw with their incredible and rejuvenating performance. Their country rock sound was incredibly diverse in comparison to the other acts that night which made for a refreshing sound. The band closed out their set with the introduction of  Mr. Peter Furler (ex Newsboys) joining and performing alongside, during the remainder of their set. This led right into Peter Furler and his band members taking the stage from a much different direction than that of the others. The 3 piece set up at the end of the runway of their t-shape stage making for an intimate performance for surrounding fans.

Following the conclusion of Furler’s set, It was finally time for Skillet to take the stage. The band stole the crowd, tearing up the stage with Hero. Amping up the crowd w/ cannons of C02 when the bass hits, along with an incredible light show, the band followed with an insane performance of fan favorite Sick of It. Skillet played a total of about 9 songs, ending their set with the song Rebirthing. The show was a blast in its entirety and left fans with a smile on their face and wanting more. It was an amazing night for Christian Rock music!
