Verizon Center- Washington, DC

Opening up the night was a band called The Pretenders. Lead singer, Chrissie Hynde gave the fans what they came to see, a good set filled with songs that bring back some good memories. The band opened their set with Alone, and also played many of their most popular hits such as Back On The Chain Gang and I’ll Stand By You. They closed out the night with Brass In Pocket.

After a 15 song setlist from The Pretenders, the moment we have all been waiting for, the amazingly talented Stevie Nicks finally took the stage smiling ear to ear! The 24 Karat Gold Tour is a reference to the vault of songs that Nicks has accumulated over her lifetime as a singer, songwriter. She calls her “vault” “The Gothic Trunk of 24 Karat Gold Songs” which is made up of the mega-selling songs she has recorded with her band Fleetwood Mac and with her solo career records.

Nicks didn’t just give the fans a typical concert, she told her own personal stories that backed each song she sang. She performed many of some older favorites such as Edge of Seventeen and Bella Donna she also played some songs from her and some from her latest record, 2014’s 24 Karat Gold. Not only did Nicks play songs from most of her older records she also played a handful of Fleetwood Mac songs such as Dreams, Gold Dust Woman and Rihannon. Overall

Stevie Nicks proved that no matter how old you are you can still do what you truly love if you really put your heart to it and she sure proved that she still had it in her!
